


ArmInfo. Armenia is among 165 countries that supported the UN General Assembly resolution calling for an end to the economic, commercial, and financial embargo against Cuba.
The resolution calls for the lifting of sanctions against the island nation. Only seven countries voted against: Hungary, Israel, Argentina, Ukraine, Paraguay, North Macedonia, and the United States. Another 12 countries abstained.
Resolutions with similar content have been adopted by the General Assembly annually since 1992. Back then, 59 countries supported the document, and in 2017, 191 did. Last year, 187 countries voted in favor, two voted against (the United States and Israel), and one abstained (Moldova).
