Diplomat: Russia highly values cooperation with Armenia at UN venues

ArmInfo.  Russia highly values cooperation with Armenia at UN venues and is grateful to its partners in Yerevan for their support of Russian initiatives aimed, particularly, at protecting historical truth, as stated in an article  by Russian Ambassador to Armenia Sergey Kopyrkin, published by the  Armenpress state news agency.

According to him, a striking example is the adoption in March 2025 of  the UN General Assembly resolution "Eightieth Anniversary of the End  of World War II," co-authored by several countries, including  Armenia. "Armenia also traditionally supports the annual resolution  'Combating Glorification of Nazism, neo-Nazism and other practices  that contribute to fueling contemporary forms of racism, racial  discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance.' Russia, as a  permanent member of the UN Security Council, is fully aware of its  responsibility for the future of the UN as a unique platform for  equal dialogue and the development of collective responses to modern  global challenges. Our country's foreign policy concept prescribes  prioritizing the restoration of the UN's role as a central  coordinating mechanism for harmonizing the interests of its member  states, while respecting the fundamental principles of the UN Charter  and the political impartiality of the Organization," the diplomat  concluded.
