ArmInfo. The training of highly qualified specialists for the development of the hospitality and tourism industries in Armenia is gaining momentum. The Armenian- Swiss Academy of Hospitality (SAAH), created in partnership with the world's leading hotel management school, the Ecole Hotelier de Lausanne (EHL), will officially open in Gyumri.
According to the SAAH, the Academy is licensed by the world's leading hotel management school, VET by EHL. Anyone over the age of 18, regardless of age, can receive a Swiss-quality professional education in Armenia, opening new opportunities in both the local and international job markets. The Academy offers training in three specialties: Culinary Arts, Restaurant Service (F&B Service), and Hotel Administration. Each professional path includes three certification levels: Basic (I), Intermediate (II), and Advanced (III). Each level lasts six months, and training is conducted on the job: three months of training plus a three- month internship. Students who complete all three levels of the program receive a diploma certified by the Swiss organization VET BY EHL. Training is conducted in English. Leading specialists accredited and trained by VET by EHL teach at the Academy.
SAAH strives to make world-class hospitality education accessible to anyone who sees a career in the hospitality industry as their career path. Studying at the Academy is possible on the basis of a full or partial scholarship, which is awarded to young people who have completed compulsory military service in Armenia and were demobilized in the corresponding year, as well as to internally displaced persons from Artsakh. The Academy also offers personal scholarships.
The SAAH is established and founded in 2025 by Mr. Vahe Gabrache, AGBU Central Board Member, with the mission to provide world-class, practice-based hospitality education rooted in Swiss excellence and tailored to Armenia's growing service and tourism sectors - equipping students with the skills, mindset, and discipline to thrive locally and globally. The school's Vision is to elevate Armenia as a regional hub for hospitality and service excellence by developing the next generation of industry- ready global professionals through international standards and local relevance.
