RA Prime Minister: Mandatory military service term to be reduced from  2 years to 1.6 

ArmInfo. In Armenia, the term of mandatory military service will be reduced from 2 years to 1.6, years, as announced by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan  on his Facebook page.

According to him, RA Defense Minister Suren Papikyan, after  discussions with his parliamentary colleagues, introduced a draft  legislative initiative to this effect. "Initially, it was planned  that this initiative would come into force during the summer  conscription of 2026. However,  today I held discussions with both  the Minister of Defense and parliamentarians. As a result, we have  decided to implement the law starting January 1, 2026, which  coincides with the winter conscription," the RA Prime Minister said.
