ArmInfo. At the 80th session of the Third Committee of the UN General Assembly, under agenda item 67, "Promotion and Protection of the Rights of the Child," the Armenian delegation reaffirmed Armenia's commitment to fulfilling its international obligations and strengthening national systems to ensure the full and effective protection of children's rights. This was reported by the Permanent Mission of Armenia to the UN.
It was emphasized that in recent years, Armenia has faced serious humanitarian challenges, hosting 115,000 refugees (over 150,000 between 2020 and September 2023 - ed.), including more than 30,000 children. "About 17,000 children who were victims of forced displacement were integrated into mainstream schools, receiving educational and social-psychological support.
In close cooperation with the UN and development partners, Armenia implemented targeted measures to address the short-term and long-term needs of refugee children," the Permanent Mission said in a statement.
