ArmInfo. The State Non-Commercial Organization "Service for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Reserves-Museums and the Historical Environment" once again calls on Armenian citizens and visitors to refrain from actions that undermine the appearance and preservation of monuments. This was stated in a statement by the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports.
The Service issued a statement regarding repeated cases of vandalism on the grounds of monuments. One of these cases involved graffiti left on the walls of Kirants Monastery. The ministry's statement noted that employees of the Tavush branch of the Service cleaned the graffiti on the walls of Kirants Monastery. Some of the graffiti was removed with the utmost care. However, some remains, as the paint is quite durable, and deep cleaning poses a risk of damaging the monastery walls.
