ArmInfo. From June 7 to the present, 34 MPs have joined the no- confidence vote against Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Hayk Mamijanyan, leader of the opposition "I Have the Honor" faction, announced this on his Facebook page.
He recalled that 28 MP signatures were received at hearings organized by the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) parliamentary faction on September 26. These signatures, Mamijanyan noted, were provided by MPs from the "Armenia" faction.
As a reminder, during the hearings held on September 26, Ishkhan Saghatelyan, a representative of the Supreme Body of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF Dashnaktsutyun) party, announced that the opposition "Armenia" faction in the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia had decided to join the "I Have the Honor" faction's initiative to initiate impeachment proceedings against Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
A vote of no confidence in the current prime minister can only be discussed in parliament if at least 36 MPs provide the signatures required to initiate the process. The two opposition factions ("Armenia" and "I Have the Honor") together comprise 34 MPs. Another four are independents. To express no confidence in the prime minister, at least 54 out of 107 MPs must vote in favor of impeachment.
