ArmInfo.Armenia feels confident among the democratic countries of Europe. We see support and acceptance, and we are grateful for this," as stated by RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at the PACE on September 30. He mentioned that last year Armenia adopted a law on launching EU accession process, which has already entered into force.
"Many people ask us when Armenia will become a member of the European Union, and how realistic Armenia's membership in the EU is? We say that without meeting EU standards, it is impossible to be an EU member," Pashinyan noted. Therefore, according to him, Armenia's primary task in all cases is to bring the country in line with EU standards.
"Once we meet EU standards, there will be two paths: either we will be accepted into the EU or not." If we are accepted, that's great. But if not, then we will have achieved another important goal for ourselves - we will become a country that fully complies with EU standards, which will significantly strengthen our democracy, independence, and prosperity," Pashinyan said.
