Armenia on way of sustainable development, using its people`s  scientific and innovative potential - Vahagn Khachaturyan

ArmInfo.Armenia constantly strives for constructive dialogue, regional cooperation, and long-term solutions that pave the way for prosperity and  reconciliation. This was stated by RA President Vahagn Khachaturyan,  who is currently on a working visit to New York, at the Concordia  Forum.

According to his words, as quoted by the presidential press service,  Armenia, a relatively small but democratic country located in the  volatile South Caucasus region, has overcome numerous difficulties  over the years without abandoning its vision of building a developed  and prosperous state for its people. "Despite a past fraught with  conflict and economic hardship, our young country has always  demonstrated resilience and strength, remaining true to its  commitment to peace, stability, and a better future.  We constantly  strive for constructive dialogue, regional cooperation, and long-term  solutions that pave the way for prosperity and reconciliation," said  Vahagn Khachaturyan.

He recalled that on August 8, in Washington, with the personal  participation of US President Donald Trump, Armenia and Azerbaijan  achieved a historic achievement promising a new era of peace in our  region. An agreement on the establishment of peace and interstate  relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan was initialed, and the  leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and the United States adopted a joint  declaration. This marked an unprecedented step forward in redefining  regional relations. According to the declaration, Armenia and the  United States will work together to implement the Trump Pathway to  International Peace and Prosperity, a key component of the Crossroads  of Peace project. The project envisages the construction and  restoration of complex communication routes in the region based on  the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and jurisdiction of states.  The "Crossroads of the World" project, as well as future agreements  on investments in communications, energy security, and the expansion  of semiconductor production in Armenia, will become the core of our  mutually beneficial cooperation with the United States. At the same  time, the active participation of the American private sector will  contribute to the strengthening of our economy and stability. Open  borders, trade diversification, and alternative international  transport and energy routes will stimulate long-term economic growth,  transforming the South Caucasus from a region of tensions into a  stable and prosperous regional and global transport and  communications hub. This is the vision and goal to which we are  steadily striving," the RA President emphasized.

He also reported that, within the framework of foreign policy,  interaction with the international community has been significantly  expanded and relations with key partners, both in the West and in the  East, including the European Union, India, and other countries, have  been renewed.

"I am pleased to announce that in 2026, Armenia will host two  important international events: the Conference of the Parties to the  Convention on Biological Diversity (COP-17) and the 8th European  Political Community Summit. These initiatives are part of Armenia's  long-term strategy to enhance its role on the international stage and  make its own unique contribution to achieving our common goals. It is  becoming clear that global challenges such as climate change,  biodiversity loss, energy shortages and an unpredictable political  environment require joint action, and we are ready to actively  cooperate with all our partners to overcome these problems and find  solutions that will benefit us all. To achieve this, a sustainable  and future-oriented economy capable of responding to the challenges  ahead is necessary. Today, Armenia has embarked on a path to  sustainable development, harnessing the scientific and innovative  potential of its people. A favorable business environment that  ensures the growth of the high-tech and information technology  sectors has created all the necessary preconditions for attracting  large foreign direct investment from leading international companies  such as NVIDIA, AMD and other global giants. The Armenian  government's support through grants, tax incentives and free economic  zones has contributed to the rapid growth of this sector, turning  Armenia into a regional leader and strengthening our country's image  as a future- oriented country. Armenia wholeheartedly embraces the  era of digitalization and artificial intelligence, but places great  importance on implementing this process responsibly, with a  particular focus on stability, security, and inclusiveness.  Furthermore, Armenia's economy has achieved significant progress over  the past seven years, growing by over 43%. This is an exceptional  indicator, testifying to our competitiveness. None of this would be  possible without our country's proven democratic foundations.  Successful anti- corruption measures, financial transparency,  modernized tax mechanisms, as well as our commitment to the rule of  law, fundamental freedoms, and human rights have played a decisive  role in our progress. I invite you to get to know Armenia better-a  country that, despite geographical limitations and various  challenges, strives to build its success away from traditional  centers of innovation. Armenia is open to all, international partners  and businesses, and we are ready to welcome everyone, "Who wants to  explore new opportunities with us," the RA President concluded his  speech.
