


ArmInfo. A concert of Armenian sacred music dedicated to the 156th anniversary of Vardapet Komitas was held at the Church of St. Francesco in the Italian city of Padua.
The program included works by Komitas himself, Nerses Shnorhali, Grigor Narekatsi, Mkhitar Ayrivanetsi, as well as masterpieces of European sacred music performed by Argentine musician of Armenian descent - duduk player Gagik Gasparyan, accompanied by organist Zoya Tukhmanova-Karapetyan.
The concert was held within the framework of the All-Armenian Public Organization "Miasin" program - "Armenian Sacred Music in European Churches". At the end of the concert, the Chairman of the organization "Miasin" Gevorg Chichyan expressed gratitude to the Church of St. Francis for hosting the concert and participating in this initiative. He addressed the foreign spectators with a special greeting, emphasizing that their presence is a great honor and an expression of respect for the Armenian culture, spiritual identity and creative spirit of the Armenian people. The priest of the Church of St. Francis, Don Massimo De Franceschi, in turn, welcomed the initiative and noted that it contributes to the dissemination of spiritual and cultural values.
