Opposition MP expecting response by Armenian faction over impeachment  process 

ArmInfo.  The Within Honor faction continues to wait for the response of the "Armenia" faction deputies regarding their joining the impeachment process. Their joining this process will allow the opposition forces to form a  unified position on the impossibility of Armenian Prime Minister  Nikol Pashinyan remaining in power. This was stated today, on  September 9, by the head of the With Honor faction, Hayk Mamijanyan,  in a conversation with journalists.

The Armenia faction previously stated that it was ready to provide  the 28 missing signatures as part of the impeachment procedure,  publishing them on its Facebook page, as soon as those who initiated  this process provide evidence of collecting the remaining missing  votes to express a vote of no confidence in the head of government.

Meanwhile, Mamijanyan believes that without the consolidation of  opposition forces, it is pointless to talk about the need for the  ruling party's MPs to support the initiative. "We expect that our  partners will either join this process or at least offer an  alternative agenda, although I am sure that there will be none," the  faction leader added.

Touching on why their political force continues to promote this idea  despite the lack of support, Mamijanyan explained that for them,  every new day of Nikol Pashinyan's stay in power increases the risks  that the country faces and creates irreversible consequences for it.  That is why, as the oppositionist emphasized, they consider it  important to implement this procedure before the 2026 parliamentary  elections. In addition, he drew attention to the fact that at this  stage this is the only proposed solution to the problem in the  political field of Armenia.

However, he admitted that public consolidation and street struggle  are also necessary for the implementation of the entire process and  its effectiveness. "Without these components, the process of  expressing no confidence in the Prime Minister will be impossible,"  Mamijanyan is sure.

A vote of no confidence in the current Prime Minister can be  discussed in parliament only if at least 36 MPs provide the  signatures required to begin the process. The two opposition factions  (Armenia and I Have the Honor) together make up 34 MPs. Another four  have independent status. In order to express no confidence in the  head of government, at least 54 MPs out of 107 must vote for  impeachment.
