Over 64% fare dodgers on Yerevan public transport 

ArmInfo. Since the start of the work of inspectors in public transport in Yerevan, 354 violators have been identified. This was reported to the mayor of Yerevan  during the meeting of the city hall on September 8 by representatives  of the Public Order Protection Service of the Yerevan City Hall.

At the same time, over 64% of the violators, or 227, are fare  dodgers, 48 passengers used discount cards that did not belong to  them when paying for travel, and 79 paid for travel only after being  called by the inspector.

During this entire time, as noted during the meeting, only 5 fines  have been cancelled. According to the acting head of the Service, the  Technology Management Center of the Yerevan City Hall operates to  appeal the decision to apply fines, which allows determining in a  matter of minutes whether the fare was actually paid or not.

At the same time, the mayor was informed that during the first week  of September - since the beginning of the inspections - about 17% or  406,405 more validations were made in public transport than in the  previous period.

In this regard, Tigran Avinyan noted the effectiveness of the  measures taken. Let us recall that a fine of 3 thousand drams is  envisaged for non-payment of fares on public transport in Yerevan,  and 15 thousand drams for those who used someone else's discount  cards.
