Russian president on relations with Azerbaijan: fundamental relations  and mutual interest will put everything in its place

ArmInfo.  Russian President Vladimir Putin commented on the current relations between Maku and Moscow.

In Beijing, at the end of his visit, the Russian leader held a  briefing for journalists from the Russian Federation. When asked to  comment on the current relations with Azerbaijan, Putin said, in  particular: 

"There are always questions in relations based on the current  situation, there are problems, but today we greeted President Aliyev,  exchanged a few words, fundamental relations and mutual interest will  put everything in its place."

Relations between Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation cooled after  the crash of an Azerbaijani plane while attempting to land in Grozny.  A new round of tension arose after the arrest of members of an  organized Azerbaijani criminal group in Yekaterinburg. It is  noteworthy that the detainees were citizens of the Russian  Federation. In Azerbaijan, they threw a tantrum about this and  arrested several people on trumped-up charges, including Russian  journalists
