Serdyukov: CSTO exercises to be held in challenging geopolitical  situation 

ArmInfo.  The exercises of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) this year will be held in a challenging geopolitical situation. The events will not be directed against  any third countries, said Colonel General Andrei Serdyukov, Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, at a briefing.

"Joint training in 2025 is being carried out amidst a challenging  military-political situation. The crisis of the entire system of  international relations has significantly intensified global  reorganization processes, leading to heightened geopolitical  situation in the area of responsibility of the Collective Security  Treaty Organization and worldwide," he said.

Serdyukov also noted that all events and exercises are planned and   not directed against  any third countries. They  aim to enhance the  coherence of command and control bodies and troops, as well as  maintain the readiness of the formations of forces and means to  perform tasks as intended in the interests of ensuring collective  security.  "At the same time, taking into account long-term planning  and the current situation, the primary focus this year is on the  Eastern European and Central Asian regions of collective security,"  he added, TASS reports.  Recall that Armenia suspended its membership  in the Organization and has not participated in exercises conducted  by the military union for three years.
