ArmInfo.  Lawyers in the case of Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan and others have decided to boycott today's court session, where the issue of a preventive measure is being discussed, as stated by lawyer Vahan Hovhannisyan to  journalists on August 21.

According to him, this decision was made by all lawyers participating  in the court session without exception. Thus, the defense is  expressing its protest against the judicial authority and the  presiding judge, as  they believe legal justice is not being upheld  at the court session. An example of this is yesterday's court  decision, which extended Lidiya Mantashyan's arrest for three months.

When asked about the possibility of the authorities engaging public  defenders, Hovhannisyan noted that at this stage it is impossible,  since the law does not provide for such regulations. The court must  recognize the absence of lawyers as disrespectful at least three  times in order to  engage public defenders, but in this case, there  must also be consent from the accused. The lawyer noted that at  today's hearing, the prosecution urged the court to continue the  hearing without the defense, which is a gross violation of the law.
