The public organization "World Committee of the Pan- Armenian Games", headed by former member of the opposition faction With Honor, and now independent member of the National Assembly Ishkhan Zakaryan, will be given a territory in the Kotayk region. It is planned to build a sports village of the Pan-Armenian Games on this territory, which will serve as a place of residence for athletes during the Pan-Armenian Games (winter and summer).
As stated in the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of August 21, the forest park "Jrvezh" was founded in 1977, is located in the southwestern part of the Kotayk region of the Republic of Armenia, in the Abovyan region, at an altitude of 1400 m above sea level. The main objective of the creation of the forest park Jrvezh is the preservation, reproduction and study of unique examples of park architecture of economic, decorative and scientific importance, in combination with artificially grown local and more than 100 imported species of trees and shrubs, garden forms, the study of their ecological characteristics, as well as the introduction of the best selected and climate-adapted species in various areas of green construction. The forest park is also home to 21 rare and endangered plant species listed in the Red Book of the Republic of Armenia (eastern plane tree, juniper polycarp, Cossack juniper, common almond, etc.). The natural flora is represented by more than 300 species of high-quality flowering plants. In the residual ecosystems characteristic of this zone, 11 species of beetles endemic to Armenia are common.
"The World Pan-Armenian Games Committee will finance the expenses for the maintenance of the settlement in accordance with the statutory goals of the World Pan-Armenian Games Committee NGO," and the settlement will be used as a means to ensure the holding of the Pan-Armenian Games, as well as non-game events - various youth meetings, multidisciplinary Armenia-Diaspora events and multifunctional sports and entertainment programs.
At the first stage, the World Pan-Armenian Games Committee NGO will build eco-houses, a cafeteria and a medical center. The above-mentioned facilities do not involve capital construction. At the subsequent stages, it is planned to build various sports grounds and gyms. For each house, it will be necessary to level a plot of 110-120 square meters. The installation of houses is planned in treeless areas. The total cost of the project will be about 20,900,000,000 (twenty billion nine hundred million) drams.
As a result of the implementation of the activities envisaged by the investment program, it is expected that after the completion of the three stages of the program planned by the NGO , in case of full occupancy of the village, about 1240 new jobs will be created, and about 20,000 trees will be planted.
