


ArmInfo. Vardan Vardanyan, former member of the National Assembly of Armenia from the Prosperous Armenia faction and former Minister of Urban Development, has been arrested.
In response to ArmInfo's inquiry, the Anti-Corruption Committee confirmed that two individuals, including a former high-ranking official, have been detained in connection with a criminal case involving charges of money laundering and abuse of office. Vardanyan has held various government posts in the past: he was an adviser to the governor of the Kotayk region, deputy minister of transport and communications, minister of urban development, and general director of V.V.V. Group LLC. In 2018, he was elected as a member of the National Assembly from constituency No. 1 representing the Prosperous Armenia party.
