Discussion unfolded in Azerbaijan about country`s first ambassador to  Armenia

ArmInfo.An active discussion has unfolded in Azerbaijan regarding who will become the first ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Armenia.

Former Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov, commenting on this issue  to local media, noted that the candidate for the of ambassadorial  position in  Yerevan should be proficient in the Armenian language  and have a good understanding of Armenian people's  characteristics.  According to him, this can be either a career diplomat or an  outsider, but they must have experience and in-depth knowledge of the  region. At the same time, Mammadyarov emphasized that the appointment  of an ambassador is possible only after the signing of a specific  document establishing diplomatic relations. When asked about his  willingness to take on this role, he replied: "There is only one  answer: if they consider it appropriate."
