ArmInfo. The head of the Georgian Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church (AAC), Bishop Kirakos Davtian, has condemned Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's attacks against the Armenian Church and Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II. In a statement distributed by the press service of the Georgian Diocese of the AAC, the bishop pointed out that the current leadership, refers to the Catholicos elected by the people, as Ktrich Nersisyan, even though no such citizen exists in Armenia. In this regard, the head of the Georgian diocese stated that the authorities in Armenia lack state thinking, disregard the law and present their desires as reality, thereby misleading the people of Armenia.
"The Armenian authorities have become vile and cynical propagandists on social networks, proving this every day in their public posts. Neither the state status, nor the responsibility, nor the reputation of the country sobers them up. Meanwhile, all countries of the world, religious and international organizations, and all Armenians recognize and accept the Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II. His name is indicated as Karekin II Nersisyan on his passport," the bishop said.
He believes that the attacks on the Catholicos are nothing more than manipulation, which was the result of a reprehensible dictatorship. "The Supreme Patriarch is the collective image of the Faith of the Armenian people. Every Christian must be vigilant in order not to succumb to the provocations of the Armenian authorities and malicious actions," the head of the Georgian Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church concluded.
