


ArmInfo. Arrested Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan has filed a lawsuit against Vagharshak Hakobyan, a member of the Armenian parliament from the ruling Civil Contract faction, the judicial information website datalex.am reports.
Bagrat Galstanyan is demanding that Hakobyan pay 3 million drams in compensation for moral damages, of which 2 million drams are for slander and 1 million for insult. The lawsuit was filed yesterday evening by Shushanik Avagimyan, a judge at the Kotayk Regional Court of General Jurisdiction. There is currently no information on whether the lawsuit has been accepted for proceedings.
Earlier Galstanyan's defense filed lawsuits against Nikol Pashinyan, his chief of staff Arayik Harutyunyan, Civil Contract faction MPs Vahagn Aleksanyan, Artur Hovhannisyan, Arsen Torosyan, Hasmik Hakobyan, Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan, Republic Party leader Aram Sargsyan, former head of the State Supervision Service, now interim head of the ESA of Armenia Romanos Petrosyan, political scientist Harutyun Mkrtchyan and Heritage Party member Styopa Safaryan for slander and insult. His Holiness demanded moral damages from each of them.
Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan was arrested for 2 months on June 26, 2025. He is charged with "terrorism, mass riots and preparation for the seizure of power." He does not admit guilt.
