ArmInfo. The calls for the forcibly displaced population of Artsakh to refuse humanitarian support from Russian organizations come from those people who agree with the theses of the Armenian authorities. This opinion was expressed on his Facebook page by member of the Enlightened Armenia party David Khazhakyan.
He explained that according to these theses, there is no need to talk about the right of the Artsakh people to return, and the loss of Artsakh itself should be perceived as the price for Armenia's "independence". "Meanwhile, with such steps, Russia shows that for it, the Artsakh people still exist with their various humanitarian needs. But instead of encouraging such support as a humane and exemplary gesture, these people are engaged in counter-propaganda," Khazhakyan believes.
Thus, according to him, the problem is not so much in the aid itself that the Russian side provides, but in the fact that at some level an attempt is being made to remind about Artsakh and the Artsakh Armenians as victims of the Azerbaijani-Turkish aggression and ethnic cleansing.
Within the framework of the "Russia is with you" project, about 140 tons of humanitarian aid intended for the forcibly displaced residents of Artsakh, primarily for socially vulnerable categories, have been sent to Armenia. The initiative began the practical implementation of the project on July 31. At the first stage, humanitarian aid will be provided to about 30,000 Artsakh residents.
On September 19, 2023, Azerbaijan, under the pretext of an "anti-terrorist operation", committed another act of aggression against Artsakh. This was preceded by an almost 10-month blockade of the unrecognized republic. Since the enemy aggression that began in the fall of 2020, which in September 2023 ended with the complete ethnic cleansing of Artsakh, over 150 thousand Artsakh residents have lost their homeland and become refugees.
