


ArmInfo. The Investigative Committee (IC) of Armenia is conducting a preliminary investigation into a criminal case initiated against a company organizing the activities of a sports club for concealing actual turnover and failing to pay taxes to the state budget on an especially large scale.
According to the IC, as a result of large-scale and multifaceted investigative and evidentiary actions carried out during the preliminary investigation of the criminal case, in July 2025 alone, the company compensated the state for damages on an especially large scale in the amount of 250 million drams.
Recall that on July 21, it was reported that investigative actions were being carried out in the Reebok and Gold's Gym sports clubs. "The investigative actions are being carried out within the framework of criminal proceedings related to tax evasion," the IC noted. According to Armenian media, the Reebok club belongs to the family of former MP Ruben Gevorgyan, and the owner of Gold's Gym is a certain Erik Markaryan.
