ArmInfo. Another rain in Yerevan once again demonstrated the failure of the municipal services of the capital's city hall.
Due to the torrential rain that fell on Yerevan on the evening of July 25 and lasted no more than an hour, the streets of the capital once again turned into Venetian canals. Due to improper city management, the widespread construction of high-rise buildings in the city, the reduction of green areas, the disruption of the entire wastewater drainage system, the streets of Yerevan once again became impassable for both citizens and vehicles. In some areas, cars were flooded.
In the Armenian segment of social networks, there are many video frames demonstrating the failure of the capital's city hall, whose head Tigran Avinyan boasts left and right about the city's greening program, which does not exist, but in reality continues to build high-rise buildings in the city, cutting down healthy trees. Avinyan's incompetent management of the city has already led to dust storms being a regular occurrence in the capital, which the city residents witnessed yesterday.
The Armenian Rescue Service also spoke out on the situation, reporting that on July 25, starting at 20:30, the national and regional crisis management centers received calls that due to wind and rain, trees fell, roofs were damaged, electrical wires burned, basements were flooded, and cars were stuck in the water in the Shirak, Kotayk, Gegharkunik, Ararat regions and Yerevan.
As a result of strong winds, 33 emergency incidents were recorded: 26 in Yerevan, 1 in the Shirak region, 3 in the Kotayk region, 2 in the Gegharkunik region and 1 in the Ararat region.
