ArmInfo. Law enforcement officers do not explain the reasons for not allowing employees of the Electric Networks of Armenia company to their workplace. This was reported to ArmInfo by the press secretary of ESA Natalya Sarjanyan.
She noted that by 09:00 in the morning, employees of the company's head office arrived at their workplace, but, as it turned out, law enforcement officers had already cordoned off the building and were conducting searches since 08:00. "We don't know anything yet, we only know that the acting CEO of the company is in the company building," the press secretary noted.
Since early morning, masked NSS officers have not allowed company employees to their workplace. At the same time, law enforcement officers broke into the house of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of ESA CJSC, Narek Karapetyan, in the morning, where they are also conducting searches.
Narek Karapetyan is the nephew of the president of Tashir Group of Companies, Samvel Karapetyan. Earlier, the Armenian parliament adopted a package of legislative amendments aimed at nationalizing the ESA company owned by Tashir Group.
Philanthropist and president of Tashir Group Samvel Karapetyan was detained on the night of June 18 in Yerevan by Armenian law enforcement agencies after he expressed support for the Armenian Apostolic Church. In response, this was followed by open threats from the Prime Minister. On the night of June 19, the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction arrested Samvel Karapetyan for two months. He is being held in the Yerevan-Kentron Penitentiary (the well-known "KGB basement" in the building of the National Security Service of Armenia). He is accused of publicly calling for the seizure of power in the country. Karapetyan does not admit guilt.
