ArmInfo. The ruling Civil Contract party in Armenia is staging another part of the Marlezon Ballet in the National Assembly. Lawyer Ruben Melikyan reported this live on Facebook.
According to him, he had just left the Investigative Committee building, where 15 people had already been detained in connection with the criminal case involving the leader of the Sacred Struggle protest movement, Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan. "Today, Vahagn Chakhalyan, a socio-political figure, has been added to this list. The next part of the Marlezon Ballet in parliament, where the issue of Artur Sargsyan is being discussed, will soon end. So it is possible that the number of detainees and arrestees will approach 17," the lawyer noted. Melikyan added that Vahagn Chakhalyan has asked him to become his lawyer. "But given the heavy workload, and also keeping in mind the requirement for each detainee or arrestee to have one lawyer, I advised Chakhalyan to engage a public lawyer until the situation becomes clearer," Ruben Melikyan emphasized.
