Russian-Armenian businessman Samvel Karapetyan demands apology from  pro-government MPs

ArmInfo. The head of the Tashir State Corporation Samvel Karapetyan filed a lawsuit against the deputies of the ruling Civil Contract faction Arsen Torosyan and Hayk Konjoryan for offensive statements and slander. Information about  this is posted on the judicial information portal Datalex.am.

Karapetyan demands that the court oblige Arsen Torosyan and Hayk  Konjoryan to publicly apologize to Samvel Karapetyan for offensive  statements and refute the information they expressed during their  speeches from the rostrum of the National Assembly of the Republic of  Armenia on June 17 and 18, as well as pay compensation in the amount  of 9 million drams.

At that time, the former Minister of Health of Armenia Arsen Torosyan  accused Karapetyan from the parliamentary rostrum of having ties to  "Lubyanka" - the FSB (RF Federal Security Service) (  according to  Torosyan - "Lublyanka").

Kondjoryan, in turn, compared the hood of Catholicos of All Armenians  Garegin II with a "warhead" under which "all sorts of criminals have  gathered: oligarchs, former robbers, outcasts, blasphemers and  falsifiers", "all have gathered under this warhead and want to shoot  at the state". "And yesterday, the owner of the ESA, Samvel  Karapetyan, smoothly appeared under this warhead", he said.  Kondjoryan also stated that Samvel Karapetyan "has taken upon himself  the protection of some immoral priests, having agent ambitions,  acting as a so-called Trojan horse". At the same time, he accused the  businessman of the fact that the latter "has been using and robbing  the Armenian people and the Republic of Armenia for decades,  receiving state property at prices 10-100 times cheaper and in  exchange building something insignificant somewhere, presenting it as  charity".

Philanthropist and president of the Tashir Group Samvel Karapetyan  was detained on the night of June 18 in Yerevan by law enforcement  agencies of Armenia after he expressed support for the Armenian  Apostolic Church. In response to this, open threats followed from the  Prime Minister. On the night of June 19, the Yerevan Court of General  Jurisdiction arrested Samvel Karapetyan for two months. He is being  held in the Yerevan-Kentron Penitentiary Institution (the famous KGB  basement in the building of the National Security Service of  Armenia). He is accused of publicly calling for the seizure of power  in the country.  Karapetyan does not admit guilt.>

On July 1, Samvel Karapetyan's headquarters reported that on July 4  at 18:00 in Yerevan's Seasons Park on Mashtots Avenue (Malibu), a  march to the place of Samvel Karapetyan's illegal detention will  start.

"Let's put aside our business for a few hours and unite to show that  our people do not tolerate injustice.  Those who justify lawlessness  discredit themselves. Join us. Your voice matters," the appeal says.
