Armenian authorities actions killing businesses - UAR president 

ArmInfo.The attitude of the authorities: intimidation, illegal nationalization, etc., kills business and leads to the fact that business will not invest in  Armenia at all. This is the opinion of the President of the Union of Armenians of Russia Ara Abrahamyan.

The head of the UAR stated that the Russian businessman of Armenian  origin Samvel Karapetyan, previously detained in Yerevan for  supporting the Armenian Apostolic Church, has never been involved in  politics. According to Abrahamyan, from the first days he took part  in the activities of the Union of Armenians of Russia, headed the  Kaluga regional branch of the UAR, but neither under the former  presidents of Armenia, nor now, has he been involved in politics.

"It is absurd to regard his statement that "we will resolve this  issue in our own way" as a political statement.  Perhaps, by the word  "in our own way" he meant that he would come to Pashinyan and say  that it is not right to behave this way towards the church. That  let's not disgrace the entire nation.

Faith, the church is the foundation of our life, our protection. You  cannot go against God. Look at Russia. It is faith in God that has  given and gives strength to the people to fight for the truth. But to  take and use Karapetyan's short statement to carry out an accelerated  nationalization of his private business is unacceptable," the  president of the Union of Armenians of Russia said in an interview  with the haypress.am portal.

Samvel Karapetyan was detained on the night of June 18 in Yerevan by  law enforcement agencies of Armenia after he expressed support for  the Armenian Apostolic Church. In response, this was followed by open  threats from the Prime Minister. On the night of June 19, the Yerevan  Court of General Jurisdiction arrested the president of the Tashir  Group of Companies, Samvel Karapetyan, for two months. He is accused  of publicly calling for the seizure of power in the country.  Karapetyan does not admit guilt.
