ArmInfo. In Azerbaijan, 8 Russian citizens who were caught in the heat of the moment in the latest round of tensions between Moscow and Baku have been demonstratively arrested for 4 months. They are charged with "participation in drug trafficking from Iran and committing IT crimes." This was reported by APA.
At the same time, the photos and videos of the arrest that have been distributed show that the Russian citizens were severely beaten and treated humiliatingly. It is already known that among those detained are 40-year-old businessman Anton Drachev, co-founder of the online dry cleaner Airo and 30-year-old developer Dmitry Bezugly, who worked at VK and Yandex, as well as a 35-year-old tourist from Yekaterinburg who decided to spend his vacation in Baku.
Earlier, the Azerbaijani side detained Russian journalists Igor Kartavykh and Yevgeny Belousov for two months. Russia handed the Azerbaijani ambassador a verbal note demanding the immediate release of Russian journalists detained in Baku.
It is noteworthy that this staged trial in the best Azerbaijani traditions was initiated in Baku after members of an organized crime group who killed their own compatriots on Russian territory between 2001 and 2011 were detained in Yekaterinburg.
