


ArmInfo.In connection with the removal of banners featuring images of the president of the Tashir Group of Companies, Samvel Karapetyan, the press service of the businessman's office has issued a statement.
"We consider this interference as a manifestation of administrative pressure that goes against the principles of freedom of expression outlined in the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia. The banners do not disrupt public order and or break any laws, but are an expression of solidarity with a person who has made an invaluable contribution to the development of infrastructure, healthcare, culture and the economy of Armenia. Public support expressed in a lawful and non-violent form cannot and should not be subject to censorship or persecution. We urge the authorities to abide by legal framework, and avoid selectively applying the laws and refrain from obstructing legitimate civil stances. The Tashir Group of Companies will continue to act within the bounds of the law, defending both its rights as well as the honor and dignity of its founder," the statement reads.
