ArmInfo. The Armenian parliamentary delegation, currently on a working visit to Washington, has met with representatives of several authoritative analytical and think tanks.
According to the press service of the RA National Assembly, The delegation met with the Analyst in Russian and European Affairs at the Congressional Research Service Corrie Weight and Analyst in European Affairs Sarah Garding, discussed Armenia-USA relations and issues of regional character. The foreign political priorities of Armenia and the details of the peace process were discussed with the Senior Director of Atlantic Council's Eurasia Center John Herbst and the analysts of the Center. AT the meeting the Senior Director on Eurasia of the U.S. International Republican Institute (IRI) Stephen Nix the deputies of the National Assembly highlighted the cooperation of the International Republican Institute with the parliament and expressed hope that those programs will be continuous.
The delegation also met with the Executive Director of the Armenian Assembly of America Bryan Ardouny. During the meeting, issues regarding the development of Armenia-US relations and the involvement of the Armenian American community and organizations in it were discussed. At the meeting with the Director General of Policy and Government Relations at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) Steven Beckerman and the Director of Policy and Strategic Affairs Marvin Feuer the security situation in the South Caucasus and the Middle East was referred to and issues regarding the Armenia-USA and Armenia-Israel relations were discussed.
At the meeting with the Chief Policy and Political Affairs Officer at the American Jewish Committee Jason Isaacson, (AJC), and the members of the Committee, the deputies of the National Assembly presented the peculiarities of Armenia's foreign policy and the nature of Armenia-Israel relations. At the meeting with, the Senior Director for Russia and Eurasia at the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) Miriam Lanskoy and the experts, the programs implemented by the foundation in Armenia and issues related to the development of democratic institutions were discussed. The MPs presented the process of democratic reforms in Armenia and the U.S. support in that process to the Policy Analyst at the Open Society Foundations (OSF) Joshua Russell.
