ArmInfo. Russian businessman of Armenian origin, head of the Tashir Group of Companies Samvel Karapetyan has made another message from the pretrial detention center, in which he promised to put an end to the split in Armenian society.
Karapetyan stated that during the years of being in power, the current government managed to split the country into "blacks" and "whites". According to him, heroes, generals, scientists - the entire elite were assigned to the "blacks" camp. Karapetyan noted that some were presented as bribe-takers, others - as worthless for society.
"Many entrepreneurs were among the "blacks", hundreds of illegal criminal cases were brought against many of them. The harsh repressive apparatus turned into the most used tool, undermining the foundations of the country's internal stability. Those who were concerned about the country, created jobs and brought benefits, became political prisoners and experienced the "charm" of prison cells. Various respected people along with their families were persecuted and were forced to leave or not return to their homeland. I know many of them personally, and the list of those who found themselves in a similar situation can be listed for a long time," the entrepreneur noted. According to him, they managed to set everyone against everyone, and political forces began to fight each other, never realizing where the real evil was hiding. "But time speaks and does its job: the "blacks" have begun to become white, and the "whites", who now constitute a minority of the people, I am sure, will very soon remain just a small group in front of everyone. Although even this hurts me, because it was with divisions and splits that our most difficult period began. We will soon put an end to the split together. We will fight!" Karapetyan added.
Samvel Karapetyan was detained on the night of June 18 in Yerevan by law enforcement agencies of Armenia after he expressed support for the Armenian Apostolic Church. In response to this, open threats followed from the Prime Minister. On the night of June 19, the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction arrested the president of the Tashir Group of Companies Samvel Karapetyan for two months. He is accused of publicly calling for the seizure of power in the country. Karapetyan does not admit guilt. His defense has already filed an appeal against this verdict to a higher court.
