ArmInfo. Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov expressed hope that there will be no new escalation of the conflict between Yerevan and Baku. According to him, the countries are in the final stages of work on a peace treaty, which is extremely important for stability and security in the region.
"The countries are very close to completing the work on the treaty, and we hope that this work will be finalized. This treaty is very necessary for stability and an atmosphere of security in the region. For our part, we always repeat that if it is in demand, we are ready to facilitate this process," Peskov said, Live.ru reports.
On March 13, the Armenian Foreign Ministry announced the completion of negotiations with Baku on the draft peace treaty. Later, Yerevan announced its readiness to sign this document with Baku as soon as possible. The Azerbaijani side is delaying this process in every possible way, putting forward more and more preconditions to Yerevan.
