ArmInfo. Another stage of repressions has begun in Armenia. This was stated to journalists on June 25 by Garnik Danielyan, a member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia from the opposition faction "Armenia", commenting on the searches that had begun in the houses and apartments of supporters of the "Sacred Struggle" movement and members of the ARF "Dashnaktsutyun" party.
"Yesterday he (RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan - ed.) published a message in which he said some absurd things, and searches are being conducted within its framework. If a few days ago people were taken to the Investigative Committee and the Police, now, according to our information, a member of the Noyemberyan branch of the ARF Varazdat Amiraghyan was taken to the National Security Service. This is another round of repression, this time on a much larger scale. Almost all security agencies are involved in the special operation - the Police, the Investigative Committee, the National Security Service," the MP added.
He noted that about 50 people were taken to police stations. Meanwhile, according to the parliamentarian, none of them committed any illegal actions. Garnik Danielyan noted that recently unprecedented events have been taking place in post-Soviet Armenia, which in their nature are reminiscent of 1937. "When they break into people's houses and take them to the NSS, what does this mean? About 1937. The man (RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan - ed.) once again fell into a fit of hysteria, sending corresponding SMS messages to the leadership of law enforcement agencies with a demand to provide the necessary "evidence" of guilt at any cost," the MP emphasized.
On June 25, searches were conducted in the houses and apartments of representatives of the "Sacred Struggle" movement and the ARF party from early in the morning. They began after yesterday's statement by RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan about preventing an attempt at a coup d'etat and usurpation of power. "This process will go down in history as a 'failed coup d'etat of swindlers,'" he wrote on social media, attaching a link to an article from the Civic publication to the post. The message says that the Armenian opposition was preparing a coup d'etat in the country and developed a special plan for this purpose. It mentions former presidents of Armenia and Russian companies.
The Civic portal published scans of an unknown document consisting of seven pages. It is titled "Coup Strategy". At the beginning of the text, the "goal is to overthrow the regime of Nikol Pashinyan" and transfer power to the people, the church and other structures. The document says that the implementation of the plan should begin on July 23.
The "human resources" section mentions former Armenian presidents Robert Kocharyan and Serzh Sargsyan, as well as the leader of the Tavush for the Motherland movement Bagrat Galstanyan, the recently arrested billionaire Samvel Karapetyan and the founder of the Prosperous Armenia party Gagik Tsarukyan. The list also includes Russian companies Gazprom Armenia and South Caucasus Railways, which belongs to Russian Railways.
