ArmInfo. Russian businessman of Armenian origin, head of the Tashir Group of Companies Samvel Karapetyan initiated legal assistance for those illegally persecuted in Armenia. This was reported by the businessman's nephew Narek Karapetyan.
"Dear compatriots, if you or a member of your family have also been subjected to illegal criminal prosecution and imprisonment, at the initiative of Samvel Karapetyan, defense groups have been created that will handle your cases free of charge and try to achieve a fair decision for you," Narek said, publishing a list of contacts of lawyers who are ready to provide legal assistance. All expenses for the lawyers were covered by Karapetyan's family.
Recall that Samvel Karapetyan was detained on the night of June 18 in Yerevan by Armenian law enforcement agencies after he expressed support for the Armenian Apostolic Church. In response, this was followed by open threats from the Prime Minister. On the night of June 19, the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction arrested the president of the Tashir Group of Companies, Samvel Karapetyan, for two months. He is accused of publicly calling for the seizure of power in the country. Karapetyan does not admit guilt. His defense has already filed an appeal against this verdict to a higher court.
