ArmInfo. Russian businessman of Armenian origin and head of the Tashir group of companies Samvel Karapetyan has extended his fourth letter from the Armavir penitentiary institution (PII) through his legal team, where he noted the importance of reestablishing the ties between the Diaspora and the historical homeland.
In the letter, which was conveyed by his lawyers, Karapetyan stated that since Nikol Pashinyan took office, the presence of the Diaspora in the life of the Republic of Armenia has been completely dismantled in a short period of time.
According to him, it is absurd that compatriots from France, Holland, Russia and other countries are banned from entering Armenia, being recognized as personae non gratae.
Karapetyan added that these authorities have managed to diminish the patriotic desires of Diaspora businessmen to invest in the Homeland and create jobs there in a short period of time.
"After all, our Diaspora is not only a huge potential for creating economic and business value in the homeland, but also a powerful lobbying force. All of this is also a result of the arrogant behavior of a small group of pensioners who interfere in the internal affairs of other countries through their NGOs.
Sometimes there is a misconception that the Diaspora and the Republic of Armenia do not need each other, leading to a loss of the biggest and most valuable ally for Armenia's development. Our country has nearly lost its most valuable and immeasurable capital - our Diaspora, and they have successfully reached a point where there are no investments from them. The Diaspora must again become one of the pillars of Armenia. We will fight," Karapetyan wrote.
