ArmInfo. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan disowned the Armenians of the Diaspora and called on them to solve their problems on their own.
He expressed this position at a meeting with Armenians in Istanbul.
"I cannot be the Prime Minister of all Armenians. We have no legal rights, resources or tools for this. The Prime Minister of Armenia is not responsible for all Armenians in the world, and I hold these community meetings to say: people, do not rely on me, solve your problems in your communities yourselves," he said. This phrase of the Armenian Prime Minister caused laughter in the hall.
At the same time, he expressed the conviction that those who are trying to force Armenia into the agenda of the leader of Armenia being the leader of all Armenians in the world are pushing the country to the brink of the abyss.
For clarity, he wondered how he, for example, can simultaneously solve the problems of the Armenians of Iran and Israel or Ukraine and Russia. According to him, this is simply unrealistic.
"The problems of the Armenian community cannot become a topic on the agenda of interstate relations. This is my deep conviction. Such issues should be resolved at the level of the community and the state where they live. We cannot solve the problems of the Armenians of Istanbul, you must solve them yourselves, since you live here," Pashinyan said.
