ArmInfo. The president of the Tashir Group of Companies, businessman and philanthropist Samvel Karapetyan has been charged with publicly calling for the seizure of power. This was announced to journalists on June 18 by lawyer Armen Feroyan.
According to him, a petition has been filed with the court to apply a preventive measure in the form of arrest against the businessman. "Samvel Karapetyan has been charged with committing an illegal act, he denies the charges brought against him," the lawyer noted, pointing out the absurdity of the charges. The lawyer noted that everyone can watch the video with Karapetyan again and assess the degree of danger of the statements he made, whether it is a crime or not.
The day before, Samvel Karapetyan spoke out in defense of the Armenian Apostolic Church, which was attacked by the country's authorities. In particular, he stated that "if politicians fail in this direction, then we will intervene in the campaign against the Church."
