ArmInfo. The head of the National Security Service Armen Abazyan has been dismissed from his post. The corresponding decision was signed by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on June 18.
"Guided by Part 5 of Article 9 of the Law "On Public Service", Part 2 of Article 4.1 of the Law "On National Security Bodies", Armen Abazyan is dismissed from the post of Director of the National Security Service of Armenia," the text of the decision posted on the official website of the government says.
It is also noted that the functions of the Director of the NSS are temporarily assigned to the Deputy Director of the structure Andranik Simonyan.
Armen Abazyan held the post of head of the NSS since November 8, 2020. He was reappointed in January 2024.
