Iran thwarts plans to create Zangezur corridor - Iranian official

This was stated by the adviser to the Supreme Leader of  the Islamic Republic of Iran on international affairs, Ali Akbar  Velayati, in an interview with the website, Tasnimnews  reports.

According to him, the new world order is in the process of formation,  and Iran occupies a central place in this process. If we turn to  historical realities, we can say with confidence: after adopting  Islam, Iran has never been as powerful, independent and influential  as it is today, he noted.

As US President Joe Biden himself admitted, everything was ready for  the launch of the corridor, but it was Iran that prevented this  project from being implemented. This statement shows that the Islamic  Republic of Iran, even without Russia's support, was able to maintain  security in the South Caucasus region and prevent NATO penetration  through smart diplomacy.

Iran's skillful and strategic presence in the South Caucasus is not  only the protection of national interests, but also a solid barrier  to foreign interference in the region's affairs,> Velayati said.

As the Advisor to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran  on International Affairs pointed out, contrary to the ideas of some  ill-wishers or naive rivals, the Islamic Republic of Iran, thanks to  the insight, courage and foresight of the Supreme Leader of the  Islamic Republic of Iran, was able to once again neutralize a complex  international project directed against the country.

"The ultimate goal of the opponents in the Zangezur Corridor case was  not only to cut Iran off from the northern direction, but also to  establish a ring of encirclement around Russia from the south.  However, this project also failed," noted Ali Akbar Velayati.
