ArmInfo.The companies and will donate their aviation technical property worth 30.1 million drams to the Ministry of Defense of Armenia. The decision was made on June 5 at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
The company belongs to David Galstyan, known as , , who is engaged in arms trade.
Galstyan, the owner of the foreign-registered company Mosston Engineering, was arrested for the first time in February 2021 on charges of supplying unusable ammunition to the Ministry of Defense of Armenia. According to the NSS, businessman David Galstyan signed an agreement with the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, according to which he supplied artillery shells for cannons of the 1983-1986 model. However, instead, the Ministry of Defense was supplied with Czech-made shells of 1977. As a result, these ammunitions were not suitable for the above-mentioned weapons, which made it impossible to use them. The SNB also reported that other criminal cases were also initiated against Galstyan.
It was later revealed that Galstyan is also involved in a criminal case on abuse of office and official forgery by high-ranking officials of the RA Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces in the process of supplying ammunition for the needs of the Armed Forces, which is being investigated by the National Security Service of Armenia. The defendants in the criminal case are former Defense Minister of Armenia David Tonoyan, former Deputy Chief of the General Staff Stepan Galstyan, businessman David Galstyan and four other high-ranking officers. Tonoyan and Galstyan are accused of embezzlement of money in especially large amounts - 2,277,323,840 drams and falsification, committing socially dangerous acts, and petitions have been submitted to the court to choose a preventive measure in the form of arrest.
