ArmInfo. In Armenia, a foreign citizen tried to kidnap a child, but was detained by law enforcement agencies.
According to the press service of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs, on June 3 at 12:33 a man called the police operations center and reported the kidnapping of a child. He noted that masked men approached him on Komitas Avenue in Yerevan and kidnapped his daughter. The police officers who arrived at the scene, after a detailed conversation with the caller, put forward a version that was soon confirmed. According to this version, the girl was kidnapped by her biological mother, her current husband and two other people. There was a suspicion that the kidnappers would cross the state border with the child. In such cases, cooperation between territorial police departments often yielded quick results. This was the case this time too.
On the same day at 17:10 at the Bagratashen checkpoint, law enforcement officers detained the child's mother, her current husband and another foreigner. The kidnapped girl was with them. All of them were taken to the Yerevan City Criminal Police Department. The collected documents were transferred to the Investigative Department of the Arabkir Administrative District. The circumstances are being clarified during the preliminary investigation.
