ArmInfo. The simultaneous attacks on the Armenian Apostolic Church by RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and the head of the Caucasus Muslims Department Allashukur Pashazade cannot be considered a coincidence, as stated by Kristine Vardanyan, member of the RA National Assembly from the opposition faction "Armenia," to journalists.
According to her, those members of the RA National Assembly who had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the draft peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan were convinced by a specific example that a denationalization program is being implemented in the country. The draft included a provision where the parties agreed to "jointly fight against revanchists," that is, those who fight for the interests of Armenia and the Armenian people. Thus, as Vardanyan noted, this document has already entered into force without being signed. The MP stated that at least two episodes confirm this: the fight against the Armenian Apostolic Church, which is viewed in Baku as a source of revanchism, and the refusal to deploy third-country forces on the borders. Last year, Russian troops were withdrawn from Meghri.
"The document has not been signed yet, but Pashinyan is already implementing its provisions," the parliamentarian noted, adding that the Armenian authorities are taking steps to fulfill other demands of Azerbaijan that were not included in the text of the peace treaty, specifically regarding the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia. Vardanyan also emphasized that when the Artsakh Armenians held a rally in defense of their rights, they were subjected to active targeted propaganda of hatred. Now the AAC, which advocated for the rights of internally displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh on all platforms, including international ones, has become the target of hatred. "The attack on the AAC is the result of an agreement between Pashinyan and Pashazade," the NA deputy emphasized.
