Reps of Armenian, Azerbaijani commissions for missing persons meet

ArmInfo.  A meeting of representatives of the commissions on missing citizens of Armenia and Azerbaijan was held. This was reported by the press service of the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia.

The source notes that during the discussion, the parties touched upon  humanitarian issues related to clarifying the fate of those who went  missing during the conflict. The meeting discussed the possibilities  of exchanging information, as well as organizing and coordinating  search operations.

The parties emphasized the importance of ongoing dialogue in the  humanitarian sphere and confirmed their readiness to continue  contacts for the benefit of the families of missing persons.

The Director of the National Security Service Armen Abazyan heads the  commission on prisoners, hostages and missing persons in Armenia.  Earlier it was reported that from 1992 to 2023, the number of missing  Armenians was 1,016 people.
