ArmInfo. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received a delegation led by Fabrice Panneckoucke, the head of the French region of Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes. The delegation included Gilbert-Luc Devinaz, the chairman of the France-Armenia friendship group of the French Senate, as well as several representatives from regional and local authorities in France.
As reported by the press service of the Prime Minister of Armenia, the meeting focused on the cooperation agenda between Armenia and France across various sectors. Special attention was paid to the importance of strengthening decentralized partnership.
Pashinyan emphasized the significance of the ongoing fifth two-day conference on decentralized cooperation between Armenia and France. He described it as a viable platform for exchanging experiences at the community level and implementing joint programs. Touching upon the recently opened Honorary Consulate of France in Goris, the French delegation also emphasized that it is aimed at not only strengthening diplomatic presence, but also expanding educational, cultural and humanitarian programs in the Syunik region.
Senator Gilbert-Luc Devinaz, speaking on behalf of the France-Armenia Friendship Group of the French Senate, reaffirmed the readiness to strengthen inter-parliamentary cooperation, emphasizing that the French legislative bodies will continue to support the processes of democratic development in Armenia. The parties also discussed the potential for enhancing cooperation in education, culture, environmental protection, local self-government and economic development.
Prime Minister Pashinyan emphasized the ongoing support and solidarity demonstrated towards Armenia by the French government, the leadership of the Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes region, and the Friendship Group. He stated that the relationship between Armenia and France are based on common values, historical friendship and mutual trust.
