ArmInfo. An exclusive temporary exhibition "Hands of Memory" has opened at the Museum of Literature and Art, during which personal watches of great Armenian cultural figures, each with its own history and symbols, were presented.
In particular, about 60 watches are on display at the exhibition, including watches of Hovhannes Tumanyan, Avetik Isahakyan, Aksel Bakunts, Vahram Papazyan, Martiros Saryan, Aram Khachaturyan and other cultural figures.
Visitors will be able to see that the hands of the watches stopped at a certain point in the lives of these outstanding people. In some cases, when they were no longer alive. It is noteworthy that out of the entire collection, only the watch of Barsegh Kanachyan (Lebanese composer and conductor of Armenian origin, 1885-1967) continues to work, becoming a living witness of time.
The museum director, Suzanna Khodjamiryan, noted that for the first time, personal watches of great figures of our literature, music, theater and cinema were collected in one place. "Watches that accompanied these people throughout their creative lives and whose hands today show not numbers, but stories, moments lived and memories," she emphasized.
According to the press service of the event organizers, the exhibition "Hands of Memory" will last 1438 hours and 120 minutes, and will be open to all comers from May 31 to July 30.
