ArmInfo. The South Caucasus region has the potential to become a regional oasis, as stated by Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili on Georgian Public Television.
He expressed satisfaction with the results of the meetings with the leaders of neighboring states. "My first visit was to Azerbaijan, then to Armenia. During these meetings, the priority of the states of the region for peace was reaffirmed. Armenia also gradually recognized the potential that the South Caucasus holds. It also became obvious to them the opportunities that exist in the South Caucasus for peace to become a priority. Of course, the interests of all major players will be present, but the South Caucasus has the potential to become a regional oasis," the Georgian President said. He called for the region to be viewed not as a zone of conflicts, a tool for carrying out mandates for any large country, but as a place where everyone is moving towards dialogue, investments and normalization of relations. "That potential exists," Mikhail Kavelashvili noted.
