ArmInfo. France plans to open a consular section in Goris, as stated by French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot during a joint press conference with his Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan in Yerevan.
"France plans to open a consular section in Goris," the diplomat said. He pointed out the importance of decentralized cooperation between the countries and the holding the 5th forum, interparliamentary relations, and collaboration with the Diaspora.
The Minister recalled the participation of French companies in the development of Armenia's water sector and the 100 million euro loan allocated by the French Development Agency for this purpose, the participation of a French company in the issuing of biometric passports for RA citizens, and, in general, the development of relations between Yerevan and Paris.
The French Minister also said that during his visit to Yerevan he would attend an event in memory of French Navy Admiral Dartige du Fournet, whose efforts had saved 4,000 defenders of Musa Dagh. "We are faithful to the pain and tragedy. That is why France remains close to the forcibly displaced from Nagorno- Karabakh and Armenia," Barrot said.
