ArmInfo. On May 21, a small group of citizens organized a picket in front of the building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, where a meeting of the heads of the foreign policy departments of Armenia and Russia, Ararat Mirzoyan and Sergey Lavrov, was taking place.
Former member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, leader of the party "In the Name of the Republic" Arman Babajanyan, known for his pro-Western position, stated that the action was organized in response to Russia's policy. In particular, he accused Moscow of allegedly surrendering Artsakh and provoking Azerbaijan's aggression, which led to the forced displacement of the Armenian population of Nagorno-Karabakh. The former deputy believes that Russia's actions are part of a hybrid war against Armenia.
At the same time, the organizer of the action refused to admit that the current government in Armenia is primarily responsible for the situation in Artsakh. "With this action we want to show our attitude towards the policy pursued by the current Russian authorities in the region and in particular towards Armenia," Babajanyan summed up.
The day before, the so-called "Euroblok", against the backdrop of Lavrov's visit to Yerevan, hung posters in different parts of the Armenian capital with insults towards Russian President Vladimir Putin. In turn, the leader of the Russophobic party "In the Name of the Republic" Arman Babajanyan published a photo report on his Facebook page about the provocative action held in front of the Russian Embassy in Yerevan. It should be noted that the day before, during a weekly briefing, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova saw an American trace in the Russophobic action organized in the center of Yerevan.
