ArmInfo. Lawyer Arsen Babayan believes that the insults voiced by the wife of the head of the Armenian government Anna Hakobyan towards citizens who criticize her are a manifestation of political deviation, social pathology and a consistent distortion of civic dignity.
"When the wife of the head of government, although not holding an official position, but actually occupying a key public role, responds to criticism from people with words like "flea", "dumbass", "ignoramus", "ill-mannered", then the problem goes beyond the usual emotional reaction. Such speech, coming from the family of the ruling elite, does not indicate strength, but emptiness. When a label is used instead of an argument, and humiliation instead of a counterargument, the one who demonstrates such a manifestation becomes a source of spreading hatred and intolerance," Babayan believes.
At the same time, the lawyer noted that if in France, a member of the presidential family, for example, First Lady Brigitte Macron, used such a lexicon in her public posts, especially in relation to public figures, political opponents or war participants, the consequences would be comprehensive, shocking and long- term, both at the social, political, international and everyday/cultural levels.
"In France, such a statement would be considered a gross violation of public ethics, would lead to a political crisis, a wave of public indignation, and could also affect the president's reputation. Such an incident could never remain just a "Facebook post". It would become an indicator of a crisis of state power," Babayan noted.
Earlier it became known that the wife of the Armenian Prime Minister began to speak unflatteringly about those who criticize her and her activities. Moreover, judging by her Facebook post, Hakobyan did not stand on ceremony with terminology. For example, she called the sister of one of the sons of the Armenian people who died in the 44-day war a "flea". Her lexicon also included such expressions as "worthless", "blockhead", "idiot", etc. Some experts are inclined to believe that in this way Hakobyan is trying to distract the attention of Armenian society from the humiliating meetings of her husband with the leaders of Azerbaijan and Turkey in Albania on the sidelines of the 6th summit of the European community.
