ArmInfo. Armenian Ambassador to Greece Tigran Mkrtchyan and Director of the British School of Archaeological Research in Athens, Professor Rebecca Sweetman discussed the potential for cooperation with Armenian research institutions.
As reported by the press service of the Armenian Embassy in Greece, Mkrtchyan noted that despite the high level of cooperation between Greece and Armenia at all levels, there is always room for improvement in presenting scientific and cultural achievements. He emphasized the invaluable role of research institutes in this regard.
The Ambassador presented the research conducted in Armenia related to Ancient Greece and translations from Ancient Greek. In this context, the parties agreed on cooperation. The Ambassador touched upon the recent cooperation between the History Museum of Armenia and the British Museum, which resulted in exhibits related to Ancient Armenia being displayed in Yerevan for about six months.
Rebecca Sweetman expressed her pleasure at seeing Ambassador Mkrtchyan at the British School of Athens. She told him about the rich history of the school and arranged a tour of the school for him after their meeting. She also expressed her desire to personally visit Armenia and learn more about the history of Armenia.
